NC Notary Signing Services covers an array of notarial services for the general public, organizations, businesses, and for other notaries. My goal is to help your business know what we can and cannot do as a notary to help answer any questions you may have. As your preferred notary, we are an extension of your organization or firm and pride ourselves in being efficient, organized, and upholding the laws that govern us as a notary public.

LIMITATIONS ON A NOTARY'S AUTHORITY

Notaries cannot perform the following acts:

1. Assist persons in preparing wills, mortgages, deeds, deeds of trust, or any other legal documents.
2. Provide immigration consultation.
3. Provide legal advice.
4. Choose the appropriate notarial certificate to be placed on a document.

We understand our position in the role of the services that we offer and provide and leave this to the attorneys and lawyers that may partner with using our services for their clients.

Certifying a True Copy or Notarizing or Authenticating a Photograph

A notary public possesses only three powers:

1. Taking acknowledgments
2. Taking verifications and proofs
   
3. Administering oaths and affirmations​

A NOTARY DOES NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO:

• ...certify true copies
• ...authenticate photographs
• ...or otherwise perform any other service not specifically set out by law. 

We will gladly refer customers to the Register of Deeds Vital Records to help them with gaining certified copies of birth certificates, marriage licenses, divorce decrees, and or death certificates. 

Business to Notary fees are negotiable. This means the end client pays the business directly that we the notary are hired to notarize for and therefore the notary is paid directly by the company.
